A review of Litmind's 2024
Litmind turned 20 this year! This is what we looked like back then, when this project was still taking shape within our small agency Fotopunto:

But let's leave the sentimentality for the end and first take a look at everything that has happened at Litmind in 2024:
A smarter algorithm
Until now, our algorithms for deciding which photos and slides stand out were quite archaic. But not anymore!
Since January, we've been gradually implementing a new, home-brewed algorithm that lets us discover the most interesting photos and slides you publish. Moreover, we've released it as Open Source so others can use it.
We just hope it doesn't go to our heads; we're here for the photos, not for the likes!

In February, we added the option to create exclusive castings for experienced models, making life easier for agencies and photographers looking for talent above the beginner level.

Significant improvements to the profile search
In March, we completely revamped the profile search in the section; now you can filter profiles in various ways to find the model, photographer, or stylist you need.

If you're one of those with a thousand profiles on Litmind, since April you can log into all of them at the same time; forget about constantly opening and closing sessions like crazy.

Upload videos to your portfolio
Linking videos from YouTube or Vimeo used to be quite cumbersome: not only did ads interrupt the experience, but they also loaded third-party cookies, which aren't very popular.
Since April, you can upload videos directly to your portfolio, without ads, logos, or those extra cookies noone needs.

Quickly contact candidates in castings
Last year we already made a major update to the casting and collaboration manager, and in June of this year, we added another super useful function that lets you contact groups of candidates at the same time, which helps a lot in organizing your casting or collaboration.

HDR photos
In November, we implemented support for HDR photos, which look much more vibrant and realistic. If your monitor supports it, you're going to be amazed. Check out some examples.

Polaroids
Last year we added the option for models to upload their polaroids, which has made organizing a casting much more intuitive - agencies love it! This year, we've also included a new section that lets you discover models through their polaroids.

These are the most important improvements, but we've worked on many other useful functions, like the option to pay with PayPal in addition to cards, the option to decide if you want your photos used to train AI, the ability to easily switch between Plus and Pro, and countless other details we keep refining behind the scenes.
A bittersweet record
This year we've seen how model scams have increased dramatically 😕. Fake model agencies looking for girls for prostitution, porn producers hiding behind "spicy" castings, users posing as photographers, and many other sordid stories that would make for several "True crime" episodes.
In 2024, we set a record with over 200 detected scams of this type, more than double that of 2023.
It's disheartening to see how some of these scammers can carry out their intentions, but we're glad we've detected them quickly, and they haven't managed to pass Litmind's filters, thanks to the reports we receive and all the security and detection systems we've developed over the years.
We are so proud
This year we've seen more and more fashion brands and designers using Litmind to organize castings, find photographers, and produce their lookbooks. That's the spirit!
Also, we've lost count of the incredible jobs you upload and highlight when they inspire us so much.

We're ready for whatever the future brings, we always have some improvement or reinvention plan in the works, and we love what we do. Thanks to all of you, Litmind has become a very intimate, close, and cherished part of our lives. 🥹
